San Carlos City Hospital observes nat’l hospital week

San Carlos City Hospital (SCCH) formally opened National Hospital Week with a motorcade along major streets in the city on Monday, August 7.

Hospital personnel from the different sections and divisions of the Hospital Department joined the motorcade whose week-long event anchored on the theme, Sulong Kalusugan: Ospital Maaasahan, mandated by Presidential Proclamation No. 181 in recognition of the necessary role of hospitals in the promotion, safeguarding, and preservation of people's health.

SCCH Officer-in-Charge Dr. Renan Sanchez said the activities prepared focus on fitness and health, camaraderie, and sportsmanship; hoping for the said event to be successful and memorable with everybody participating in the different activities.

SCCH Administrative Officer Maria Consuelo Janice Carmona associated this year’s theme with the mission and vision of the health facility: the commitment to provide a holistic approach to individual clients and gearing towards becoming the center of excellence.

Carmona also recognized the efforts and hardwork of the city hospital employees; and thanked Mayor Renato Gustilo, Vice Mayor Christopher Paul Carmona, Negros Occidental 1st District Congressman Gerardo Valmayor Jr., Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, and Sangguniang Panlungsod for their support.

SP Member Dr. Wilmer Yap, Hospital Services and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Chair reiterated the continuous support of San Carlos City Mayor Renato Gustilo to the city hospital thru the upgrades within the facility using the funds of the local government. He said the mayor may not grant all requests because of limited funds, but he will provide them eventually. (PR)
