THE TnT Triple Giga captured the championship in the PBA 3x3 Season 3 First Conference as it edged Cavitex, 21-18, in the finals on Aug. 13, 2023 at the Market! Market! on McKinley Parkway, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
Down for most of the game, including an early 7-12 deficit, Gryann Mendoza and Almond Vosotros came through in the clutch to help TnT come away victorious and bag the crown and the P750,000 that came with it.
“It’s absolutely special to win our fifth championship. We thought this is the only way we can pay back TNT management for all its support,” said Vosotros.
Mendoza led TnT in scoring with 10 points, highlighted by four makes from beyond the arc, the last of which pushed his team in front, 17-15. Vosotros logged in seven, including the game-winning deuce, to go with five rebounds and six assists, the last of which enabled Lervin Flores to score the go-ahead layup after Bong Galanza tied it at 17-all.
Flores finished with three markers while Samboy de Leon added one in the clincher. / JNP
