Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said Monday, August 14, that solar lights are ready to be installed at the playground area of the Capitol Park and Lagoon for the safety of the children, especially during night time.

"The safety of the children at the playground especially during night time caught the attention of Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson," Diaz said.

He said that solar lights which are donated to the province are ready to be installed.

On Sunday, August 13, Lacson noticed some children were still at the playground at about 6:30 p.m., which is why he expressed concern as the area is already dark.

Some of the installed lights were said to be stolen.

Diaz said the park including the playground will still be open until 10 p.m.

Meanwhile, Diaz also said that they are planning to establish a dog park and pet corner inside Lagoon, in the area which used to be a skating range.

"We will maximize the use of the lagoon with safety. I have talked to the governor about the plan and this is going to be a popular development for pet lovers," Diaz said.*
