Councilor Em Ang, chairperson of Sangguniang Panlungsod committee on history, culture and arts, passed a resolution Wednesday, August 16, congratulating Bacolodnon director Kurt Soberano for winning best short film for his short film, “Golden Bells” in the 71st Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (Famas) Awards.
Ang said in her resolution that Soberano, a gifted and dedicated filmmaker hailing from Bacolod City, has brought immense pride and honor to the city through his exceptional work in the film industry and the City Council of Bacolod City acknowledges and celebrates the remarkable achievements of its talented citizens in various fields, recognizing their outstanding contributions to the arts and culture.
She also added that Soberano's achievement not only serves as a source of inspiration to aspiring filmmakers and artists within the city but also highlights Bacolod City's significant role in fostering and nurturing creative talents that can compete and excel on a national and international level.
Meanwhile, Mayor Alfredo Benitez also congratulated the local filmmaker. (PR)
