POLICE have scored big anew in its anti-drug campaign as they arrested a high-value target (HVT) suspect and confiscated over P1.3 million worth of illegal drugs in Zamboanga del Sur, an official said Saturday, August 19, 2023.

Police Brigadier General Neil Alinsañgan, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula, identified the arrested HVT suspect as Nashrodin Pido alias “Big Boss”, 20, a resident of Purok 1 in Kakai Renabor village, Tubod, Lanao del Norte.

Alinsañgan said that Pido was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 9:35 p.m. Friday, August 18, in Purok Acacia in Anonang village, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur.

He said seized from the possession of Pido were some 200 grams of suspected shabu worth P1,360,000, a cellular phone, and P200,000 boodle money topped with one genuine P500 as marked money.

He said the arrested suspect was placed under the custody of Dumalinao Municipal Police Station in preparation for the filing of case against him.

“I laud the operatives of PNP Drug Enforcement Unit 9 and Dumalinao Municipal Police Station for the seizure of P1.3 million worth of illegal drugs. This is a back-to-back accomplishment of PRO-9 (Zamboanga Peninsula) as just yesterday (August 18), we have also seized P8 million worth of shabu in Maasin, Zamboanga City,” he said.

“These accomplishments are the result of our relentless efforts against the proliferation of illegal drugs in Zamboanga Peninsula,” Alinsañgan added. (SunStar Zamboanga)
