San Carlos holds city charter shootfest

Some 84 shooters and 6 five-man teams battled in the Mayor Rene Gustilo Charter Shootfest, Battle of Champions on Sunday, Aug. 20, at Brgy. Palampas Firing Range.

Organized by the City Government of San Carlos, the champions of the different individual categories under the Standard Division include: Ivan Rivera for the Civilian Category; PSSG Gerard Villamor for Lawman Category; Zhanae Yulo for Lady Category; Rosales Adonis, Senior Category; Ver Manalang, Super Senior Category; and Rhomar Villarosa for Local Government Unit (LGU) Category.

Champions in the Classic Division include Rodel Jardinaso, Civilian Category; Edbel Balibadlan, Lawman Category; Chelo Estrada, Lady Category; Milo Etsival, Senior Category; Frank Garcia, Mega Senior Champion; and Lewyn Torres for LGU Category.

In the Production Division, Miguel Alisaje was the champion for Civilian Category; Jabu Roxy for Lawman; Sharon Juance for Lady; Gilberto Pineda Jr. for Senior Category; Martin Juson for the LGU category; and Renbert Gustilo for Optics Championship.

On the other hand, Renbert Gustilo was hailed champion in the Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC) category, while Team Surge brought home the championship in the 5-Man Team Event.

Winners received trophies and cash prizes. The 5-Man Team Event champion received P20,000; 1st runner-up, P10,000; 2nd runner-up, P5,000, while individual event winners received P3,000 for the champion; 1st runner-up, P2,000; and 2nd runner-up, P1,000.

City Mayor Renato Gustilo thanked the participants for joining and Annex Digital, Inc. (ADi) for sponsoring the cash prizes.

Vice Mayor Christopher Paul Carmona also invited the participants to join the next firing contest in December 2023.

Also present during the shootfest were SP Members Jeffrey Hidalgo, Benito Gustilo, Philip Gerard Maisog, San Carlos City Chief of Police PLTCOL Jesus Mesahon Jr., City Legal Officer Atty. Peter Parco, and Executive Assistant III Jan Kristoff Carmona. (PR)
