LGU awards exemplary Victoriahanons

Victorias City Government through its Sangguniang Panlungsod conferred awards to several exemplary Victoriahanons during the regular flag-raising ceremony today, Aug. 22, at the City Public Plaza.

Victorias City officials led by Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez commended the Victorias City Philippine National Police headed by PLTCOL Rodrigo Roy Gutierrez for being awarded as the best unit in the greatest number of operations of anti-illegal gambling during the 122nd Police Service Anniversary Celebration held at Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, Bacolod City last August 11.

PSSG Diore Raymund Paguntalan was also recognized for his Best Junior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Operations Award.

The Victorias City BJMP was awarded for being the Best City Jail of the Year during the 32nd BJMP Regional Anniversary of the BJMP-REGION VI held in Iloilo City.

Moreover, Special Unit Awardee – Good Deeds (National Award) Police Major Jerome Manahan, company commander of the Philippine National Police 605th Maneuver company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 also received the same plaque.

Victoriahanon swimmers Jay-r Punzalan, Troy Castor, Hans Benedict Villafranca, and Zyra Villarino were also commended for winning medals in their respective swimming competitions.

Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias Integrated School Junior Basketball Team and Sidlak Football Club were also awarded. (PR)
