THE Philippines seems to be drawing smaller for drag artist Pura Luka Vega (real name Amadeus Fernando Pagente) as another province declared him as persona non grata.

The resolution to declare Vega as persona non grata in the province of Bohol that was approved by the Provincial Board on Tuesday afternoon was introduced by Board Member Tommy Abapo.

"The portrayal of religious figures in a manner that is disrespectful or offensive to the religious sentiments of individuals and communities is not conducive to promoting harmony and mutual respect within our society," stated the resolution.

"The Province of Bohol values its diverse population and aims to uphold respect for all religious beliefs, traditions, and practices," it added.

The drag artist was also declared persona non grata in Cebu City, Mandaue City, Cagayan de Oro City, Manila City, General Santos City in South Cotabato, Floridablanca in Pampanga, Toboso in Negros Occidental and in the provinces of Laguna, Bukidnon and Nueva Ecija following his portrayal of the Black Nazarene while the remix version of “Ama Namin” (The Lord’s Prayer) was playing in the background and people were singing along.

Vega is also facing two separate complaints filed by the Philippines for Jesus Movement filed in Quezon City and the Hijos del Nazareno in Manila City Court for violating Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code and Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act. (SunStar Philippines)
