ANOTHER seaport development project of the Cebu Port Authority (CPA) will be inaugurated in Barangay Maya, Daanbantayan town on Friday, August 25, 2023.
The launching of the recently finished R.C. Deck with ro-ro (roll on, roll off) ramp will be held at 10 a.m. Friday.
The CPA funded the construction of the project worth over P119 million.
"This (project) is expected to increase vessel traffic, improve cargo handling efficiency, and ultimately promote commercial growth in the area being one of the major gateways to Malapascua Island in Cebu, Kalanggaman Island in Leyte, Matnog, Sorsogon in Luzon, and other popular tourist destinations," the CPA said.
Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, Undersecretary for the Maritime Sector Elmer Francisco Sarmiento, Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, Fourth District Representative Janice Salimbangon, Daanbantayan Mayor Sun Shimura and other local officials are expected to grace the event. (ANV/TPT)
