DAVAO City cue artist Arman Natividad survived a 9-8 victory in an intense battle against fellow Dabawenyo Rolito Dava to capture the 38th Kadayawan Festival 10-Ball Open Handicapping Tournament title held recently at the JDL DJ3 Billiard Hall along San Pedro Street.

Natividad hacked out an 8-6 victory over Taldong Mateo of Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental, in the semifinals. This hard-fought victory paved the way for his exhilarating championship clash with Davao. The latter secured his spot in the finals with an 8-4 semis win over Roberto Ancheta of Cebu City.

During the quarterfinals, Natividad outshined Warren Menguito from General Santos City, 7-6, while Dava prevailed over Bodie Cubillan with a 7-5 victory. Ancheta also showcased his skills, beating Menlee Migellano on the same note, 7-5, even as Mateo pulled off a 7-5 triumph over Napoleon Labrador of Davao de Oro. 

Natividad secured the championship, while Dava settled for the runner-up honors. Roberto Ancheta grabbed the third spot, followed by Mateo in the fourth. Migellano, Labrador, Menguito, and Cubillan ranked fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth in the cue fest, attracting 128 players.

Jolan Sabili, Mark Estiola, Joel Castillo, Cesar Pasion, Ruben Cuña, Niño Mada, Dags Allawan Dagon, and Geraldson Odale placed ninth to 16th in the event that gave away a total cash prize of P150,000.

The open class tournament started Tuesday, August 22, and will end on August 26. MLSA
