IN A bid to help ensure a child-friendly and conducive learning environment for students, SM CDO Downtown and SM City CDO Uptown participated in this year's Brigada Eskwela at the Pedro “Oloy” N. Roa High School.

Volunteer employees from each mall in Cagayan de Oro, led by SM CDO Downtown Mall Manager Lovelle See and SM City CDO Uptown Mall Manager Mell Sagales, have kept the bayanihan spirit alive as they ensure the preparedness of their partner schools for the opening of classes.

The employees helped with the school's repainting of chairs and repair of broken classroom windows.

This initiative, according to SM, aimed to inspire and motivate young minds by providing an engaging educational space.

The annual Brigada Eskwela, which is themed this year as “Bayanihan Para sa Matatag na Paaralan,” highlights volunteer initiatives to ensure a clean, safe, inclusive, and child-friendly learning environment for learners and teaching and non-teaching personnel, and strengthen the resiliency of schools and basic education.

Joining the Brigada Eskwela is part of SM's employee volunteerism project, spearheaded by the HR Department under the SM Cares program.

This project aims to extend assistance to various sectors in the community they serve.
