Serbisyo caravan goes to Paquibato

THE City Government of Davao facilitated the delivery of government services to Barangay Salapawan, Paquibato District, through a Serbisyo Caravan on Thursday morning, August 24, as part of the city's initiative of bringing services closer to far-flung areas.

In celebration of the barangay's 56th founding anniversary, the local government unit (LGU) and national agencies came together to provide various services to the residents.

Several national agencies, including the Philippine Statistics Authority, offered services such as requests for birth and death certificates, certificates of no marriage, national ID registration, and issuance of Philippine IDs. 

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth) also assisted with new memberships, record updates, and the issuance of PhilHealth IDs.

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) provided police clearances for needy individuals. At the same time, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Task Force Davao (TF-Davao) promoted security awareness among the attendees.

Local offices also participated in the event, with the Anti-Scam Unit assisting victims of various scams, such as Paluwagan, investment card skimming, loan scams, email spoofing, and phishing. The City Agriculturist Office distributed vegetable seedlings to farmers to support their agricultural activities.

Other offices, including the City Assessor's Office, Land and Building Appraisal Services, City Cooperative Development Office, offered services such as cooperative training programs, livelihood and enterprise assistance, Davao City Credit Surety Fund (DCCSF), cooperative registration with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), and LGU accreditation.

Similarly, the City Planning and Development Office addressed inquiries related to infrastructure projects and documentary requirements.

The City Civil Registrar's Office assisted with concerns regarding birth and death certificates, name or gender corrections, legitimation, and the Affidavit Using Surname of Father (AUSF).

In addition to the services offered, the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (Cenro) organized tree-planting activities and beautification projects by providing ornamental plants and tree-cutting permits.

The City Engineer's Office (CEO) conducted investigations, surveys of engineering designs, feasibility studies, and project management tasks.

Medical services, including dental and physical checkups, blood pressure (BP) checks, and dengue orientations, were provided by the City Health Office (CHO). 

Vitamins and medications were distributed to residents, and Lingap offered assistance for agency-related inquiries, bill concerns, and prescriptions from health institutions.

The City Legal Office provided legal consultation, notarization of affidavits, and related services.

The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) addressed issues affecting solo parents, persons with disabilities (PWD), and senior citizens. The agency offered services related to the Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program (4Ps), counseling, and raising awareness about curfews for minors and child-friendly Spaces.

The Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) Office of the Senior Citizen provided registration, booklet and ID issuance, and Veterans Burial Assistance for World War Two veterans.

Transportation concerns were addressed by the City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO), including franchise renewals for motorcycle-for-hire, body number allocations for new vehicles, and renewals.

The City Veterinary Office provided animal-related services such as consultation, vaccination, and deworming.

The Educational Benefit System Unit (EBSU) disseminated information about scholarship and financial assistance application requirements to benefit barangay residents.

The Public Employment Service Office shared labor market information, facilitated registrations for local or overseas job opportunities, offered referrals and placement assistance, and provided employment coaching and counseling.

The City Mayor's Office (CMO) attended to resident concerns directed to the mayor, while the vice mayor's office provided free documentary services.

The Serbisyo Caravan aligns with the city government's strategy to extend government services to Dabawenyos, especially those living in remote areas far from the city center.  RGP
