Renowned Filipino artist and visionary fashion designer, Jef Albea, curated a solo exhibition entitled “Timeless” at Nustar Resort in Cebu. The mesmerizing showcase graced the gallery on Aug. 19, 2023. Sixteen of his extraordinary creations, a blend of fashion and artistry, were on display; each a demonstration of the artist’s talent and creativity.
Marking his inaugural solo exhibition in the Queen City, Albea, a seasoned artist and fashion luminary, is experiencing a triumphant resurgence. After a series of successful exhibitions spanning across Canada, Qatar, New York, Paris, Milan and Thailand, this showcase is a heartfelt homecoming, igniting his pride as he reintroduces his artistic brilliance to his homeland.
The artist reveals his anticipation to reconnect with numerous clients in Cebu, recognizing that this occasion offers the ideal chance to bridge his artistry with the art enthusiasts of Cebu. He is deeply appreciative and thrilled that some prominent figures within the local art scene, who happen to be Cebuanos themselves, have graciously attended to lend their support to his artistic journey.

Having designed sculptures that seem to mimic an ethereal dance frozen in time, Albea’s pieces embody fluidity, elegance and a sense of freedom. His art pieces titled “Divine,” “Fearless,” “Unfading,” and “Empowerment” are exquisite sculptures that can be seen as a tribute to the timeless and multifaceted nature of womanhood.
These sculptures take on the form of graceful, abstract figures. The figures’ contours flow seamlessly from one curve to the next, creating a continuous, sinuous motion that seems almost impossible in solid form.
Albea’s artistic talents have not only earned him admiration but also widespread recognition. He proudly wears numerous accolades, including the prestigious Golden Globe Award.
