THE Davao City Library and Information Center (CLIC) won two awards from the National Library of the Philippines (NLP) and The Asia Foundation (TAF) on Friday, August 25, 2023.

The awarding of the CLIC for the Public Library of the Year Award for the year 2022 and the Most Innovative Public Library Award for the Library Programs and Activities Conducted (Adaptive) was held at the Epifanio Delos Santos Auditorium NLP, Ermita Manila.

The award-giving bodies recognized the remarkable performance of the library by providing services to about 164, 205 clients, physical or online, in the year 2022. This achievement by the CLIC inspired other public libraries for its utmost commitment to serving the members of the community.

It also acknowledges the unrelenting advocacies for innovation of the CLIC for developing plans, programs, and activities for the advancement of public libraries and by demonstrating sincere commitment and selfless dedication to public service.

“We are humbled that our dedication to serving the Dabawenyos has been recognized, inspiring us to improve our services. We would also like to thank the City Government of Davao for its unending support,” the recent post on the CLIC Facebook page stated.

Way back in 2022, the library was conferred as the Most Innovative Public Library in Adaptive Library Services and Programs by the same body at the Sheraton Hotel, Manila.

With its four-story facility which has meeting rooms, an amphitheater, reading places for children and adults, an information technology center, a coffee shop on the ground level, and an organic rooftop garden, plus four mobile libraries, CLIC will continue to provide access to books to all the Dabawenyos.
