AROUND 4,500 The Feast participants are expected to gather during the Feast Conference (FeastCon) 2023, a religious conference for a cause organized by the Light of Jesus Community, a Roman Catholic ministry.

A portion of the proceeds of the event, slated on Dec. 2 at the IC3 Convention Center in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City, will go to the Jeremiah Foundation, a shelter for young girls who are victims of sexual abuse.

Since the inception of FeastCon 14 years ago, the Light of Jesus Community has been actively supporting outreach activities and organizations under its “mercy ministries,” Stephen Nelias, co-chairman for this year’s FeastCon, said in a press conference after the Cebu launch of the FeastCon on Sunday, Sep. 3.

Last year’s FeastCon raised funds for the Anawim Foundation, a small facility dedicated to the poor and abandoned elderly people.

The FeastCon, an annual event since 2009, serves as the culmination for attendees of “The Feast,” a weekly praise and worship in various areas in Visayas and Mindanao, including in Cebu, Bohol, Negros Island and Iloilo.

“We are inviting everyone, even outside of the Feast, to come together to have a one-day retreat wherein they can learn from the talks. They can experience being together with fellow people who journey towards God and then just be blessed,” Nelias said.

The main speaker for this year’s FeastCon is the renowned motivational speaker and author Bo Sanchez, who is also the founder of the Light of Jesus Family and The Feast.

This year’s theme is “New Promise,” which centers on the thought that when God opens the door, nobody can close it, according to Nelias.

“When God promises something, He is committed to that promise,” Nelias said.

Registration is ongoing until Dec. 2.

Nelias said participants may register online at the official website of The Feast at feastconference.com/visayas, or during the weekly Feast gathering.

Participants may choose to be a VIP or donor attendee, regular attendee, or be part of the youth attendees.

Ticket prices, which already come with a shirt and complementary kit, range from P599 to P5,999.
