THE suspect in the killing of 19-year-old Rhea Mae Tocmo has already been moved from Labangon Police Station to the Cebu City Jail.

According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Janette Rafter, deputy city director for operation of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), the court ordered for her transfer not because of his murder case, which is still being arraigned in court, but rather because of his illegal firearm case.

Rafter assured that Gabutero will receive the same care from the staff of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology as other convicts.

After Gabutero admitted to killing Tocmo, whose body was found dumped by the side of the road in Sitio Mohon, Barangay Tisa, Cebu City last July 17, the CCPO is just waiting to file the murder case against him.

According to Rafter, Gabutero's younger brother, whose real name is withheld for being a minor, will also be sued for allegedly helping the suspect dispose of the victim's body.

The CCPO has been instructed by Mayor Michael Rama to locate a witness by the name of Bianca Lee, who claimed that the Labangon Police Station's evidence was falsified and that the police were one of those responsible for Tocmo's murder.

Rafter claimed that in order to locate Lee, they are currently working with the PNP Anti Cybercrime Unit.

The CCPO rather invited Lee to come out and present her proof to the government agency of her choice so that this may be verified, if it is real.

"Kung unsa ang imong katuyoan nga nag himo-himo kag estorya kung wala man gani kay sakto nga ebedensya nga mo aligar kag bug-at nga akusasyon sa usa ka organisasyon unfair pud na. Para makita nato, total kining atong balaod fair man ni. Unsaon nato pagsuta kanang iyang gipang aligar kung dili niya ipakita iyang ebidensya," Rafter said.

(How can we believe her complaints if she would not reveal his evidence. What is the purpose of making hefty accusations against an organization if you do not even have appropriate evidence, that's unfair. For us to see, this law of ours is fair).

The police warned the victim's family that Lee may have been meddling in Tocmo’s case for financial gain, so they shouldn't automatically believe her.(AYB, TPT)
