Who can dispute the belief that church dressing and style can go hand in hand? That high fashion can exist even in the solemnity of church premises? This was elegantly proven in “Voile: An evening of Creativity and Spirituality-Dinner and Fashion Show For A Cause” hosted by Spaces and Stories (SAS), a consultancy firm, at the Atlantic Ballroom of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

The very appropriate theme, centered on proper church attire, aimed to raise funds for the projects of Five Loaves and Two Fishes, an organization that provides assistance to the Archdiocese of Cebu for immediate food supply to survivors of fire and other casualties in the city.

The creations of seven prominent designers were showcased: Edwin Ao (Men’s Line for Worship), Jun Escario (Christening), Marichu Tan (Reflection), Philipp Tampus (Fiesta), Protacio (Mourning), Ren Manabat (Sunday’s Best) and Philip Rodriguez (Weddings and Christmas). One word to describe the dressy Church wear: Stunning!

If you found them stunning, you’ll probably swoon at the models: Dashing and debonair politicians led by Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama, wife Malou and son, Mayors Samsam Gullas, Rajiv Enad, Mytha Basubas-Canoy, Rep. Edu Rama, Councilor Dondon Hontiveros and business magnate Bunny Pages.

Also in the lineup were smart and stylish professionals: Doctors Albert and Claudia Rafanan, Ron Del Mar, Jenny Limquiaco, Vivina Chiu and charming sophisticates Amanda Ouano, Jasmine “Daday” Chan, Lhesien Enad and ethereal runway queen, Jaja Chiongbian-Rama, all known for their glamor and generosity.

“Voile” was co-presented by the City of Cebu, Kabilin Center, the Archdiocese of Cebu and Samuel O. Lao and Associates (Sola).

The Church is a genuinely holy ground where people meet God. “Voile” is a chance for everyone to deepen their relationship with God by helping the needy, and dressing their best as a sign of gratitude!
