Holiday Inn Clark goes to Bahay Bata Center

CLARK FREEPORT -- Holiday Inn Clark reinforces their commitment to the community through the Bahay Bata Center outreach program.

Fresh from the month long celebration of Holiday Inn "Refresh," the Holiday Inn Clark Team led by General Manager Simon Morley had a "day out" for over 60 of the Holiday Inn employees to unite for a wonderful cause in helping out the special children at Bahay Bata Center.

"We all had so much fun helping out the orphanage" relates Morley. "It was a full day of helping Bahay Bata Center in repainting the inside and outside of their classrooms, repairing damaged drains, doors, toilets, walls, stairs and windows. We also helped in tidying up the classrooms and organizing the books in the library that have been accumulated over the years. Children's sleeping rooms were cleaned, repainted and beds repaired to make their sleep experience even better! Our IT also did re-cabling of the computers and upgrade of their computer system, installing firewalls to prevent the kids from entering into adult or forbidden websites. And finally, the play ground, volley ball court and gardens were repaired to make it more attractive, safe, and useful to the kids."

The Bahay Bata Center was opened in 2001, through the extraordinary efforts of the Rotary Club of Clark Centennial under the esteemed leadership of Chairman Reynaldo Pineda. Pineda and the founding charter members established the center to get the street kids of Angeles City into a safe and caring environment where they had a place to stay, a play to eat, and a place to get an education. Holiday Inn Clark saw how inspiring the Rotary Club of Centennial has been in perpetuating the center and felt the hotel could assist also in just a small way.

Holiday Inn Clark belongs to the Intercontinental Hotel Group, with 4,400 hotels all over the world. Holiday Inn Clark is owned by Clark Development Corporation. IHG as managers and CDC as owners understand the need for a long term commitment to the environment and the community. This will be the first of the many outreach programs that the Holiday Inn Clark will be undertaking for the year.

Holiday Inn Clark's relaunch is part of a worldwide effort by Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts to create a new identity and establish new brand hallmarks that will deliver a more consistent quality and contemporary image for the brand.

The USD 1 billion relaunch of the Holiday Inn brand family (comprising of Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn Express and Express by Holiday Inn) will bring improved consistency and service levels, as well as a more contemporary brand image and identity, to over 3,296 hotels worldwide. The global relaunch was announced in October 2007 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2010. As part of this process all Express by Holiday Inn hotels will become Holiday Inn Express properties to create global consistency. In the interim period as the hotels implement the relaunch both the existing and new Holiday Inn brand family identities will be used, as seen above.
