AUTHORITIES have arrested a New People’s Army (NPA) rebel in a law enforcement operation in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported Thursday, September 7, 2023.
The Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula identified the arrested NPA rebel as Jelboy Andata Senara alias Ka Zoren, 27, a resident of Purok 4 in Saad village, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur.
The PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula said Senara was arrested in a law enforcement operation by way of service of warrant of arrest around 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, in San Pedro village, Dumingag.
The police said Senara has a standing warrant of arrest for the crime of attempted murder with P120,000 recommended bail issued by a court in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte on May 3, 2023.
Senara belongs of the Squad 1 Team ABE of the Guerrilla Front Big Beautiful Country of the NPA’s Western Mindanao Regional Party Committee.
The arrested NPA rebels was placed under the custody of the Sergio Osmeña Municipal Police Station in Zamboanga del Norte for proper disposition. (SunStar Zamboanga)
