THE Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Alumni for Boys Class Batch 1998 will be this year’s host for the annual St. Ignatius Run as it will be part of the batch’s jubilee celebration. The proceeds of the events will be given to the scholarship fund of the SHS-Ateneo de Cebu and the SHS-Ateneo de Cebu alumni association.
The starting point and finishing line will be at GMall of Cebu, A. Soriano Avenue, Cebu City on Oct. 8, 2023. The organizers are inviting the SHS-AdC students and alumni, aiming for 200 runners to join this year.
The St. Ignatius Run is open to all running enthusiasts. It will consist of men’s and women’s 1K (kilometer) run, 3K, 5K, 10K and 16K categories. All the finishers will each get a medal.
The gun starts for 16K at 4:30 a.m., 10K at 5 a.m., 5K at 5:30 a.m., 3k at 6 a.m. and 1K at 6:30 a.m. The registration fee is as follows: P550 (1K), P650 (3K), P750 (5K), P850 (10K), and P950 (16K).
Over P150,000 in total cash prizes and plaques are in store for the winners. All finishers for the 16K will receive medals and the rest will receive a race bib, shirt and refreshment, according to Batch 1998 president, engineer Maynard Ortega. There will also be raffle prizes for all the runners.
Registration is ongoing at ECYY Sports Hub Cebu, SHS-ADC Alumni Office, Holiday Gym and Spa Cebu, KUOFO, Chong Hua Hospital Mandaue and UNBOX CEBU - Central Bloc IT Park.
