Wage board approves P33 minimum pay hike for Central Visayas workers

EMPLOYEES in Central Visayas will begin receiving a P33 increase on top of their daily minimum wage on October 1, 2023.

The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board in Central Visayas (RTWPB 7) officially announced this development in Wage Order ROVII-24 dated September 5, 2023.

The daily minimum wage for non-agricultural establishments classified as Class A through C will increase as a result of this regulation.

The new range of the amended pay structure is P420 to P468.

Class A cities include Carcar, Cebu, Danao, Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue, Naga, Talisay; and Class A municipalities are Compostela, Consolacion, Cordova, Liloan, Minglanilla, San Fernando or the Expanded Metro Cebu.

Class B are the other cities not covered under Class A, while Class C are municipalities not under Class A and Class B. (KJF, TPT)
