CEBUANO guard Roger Pogoy is still waiting for the doctor’s clearance to go all out in the Gilas Pilipinas’ preparations for the upcoming Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

Pressed for time and under pressure to perform, the latest Gilas squad of coach Tim Cone will sorely need Pogoy’s two-way brilliance to give the team its best chance of a podium finish.

“There are medical issues so I needed to see a doctor first. Hopefully, I can begin to start training,” Pogoy told Spin.ph.

Pogoy fell ill not long after the Gilas’ stint in the 2023 Fiba World Cup ended. He was in Cebu for a brief rest when he became sick and underwent several tests.

“Roger is the one who’s really here on the team but he’s got a medical issue. But he’s supposed to be part of the final 12,” Cone was quoted as saying.
