THE National Retreat for Priests 2023 (NRP2023) has received the support of at least 46 Charismatic groups associated with Charis Philippines, a Catholic Charismatic Renewal International Service.
A news conference was conducted on Friday, September 15, at the Archbishop's Residence on D. Jakosalem Street, Cebu City to discuss the event, which will be held from November 7 to 9, 2023 at the IEC Convention Center on Pope John Paul II Avenue in Barangay Luz, Cebu City.
Fe Barino, a national coordinator for Charis Philippines and the overall chairman of the NRP2023, stated that the primary goal of this event is the holiness of the priest.
"Mas gipadak-an natu (We expanded it) or we give more emphasis on the spiritual preparations," Barino said.
She added that they are working nonstop to make sure the necessary resources are available for the three-day event.
Additionally, the working committees are 60 percent prepared for the occasion.
The last national retreat for priests was held in Pasay City in January 2010, with more than 5,000 priests, including those assigned abroad, in attendance.
For this year’s activity with the theme "Priesthood: A Call to Holiness," around 3,000 priests are expected to attend. (CAV)
