One Negros Football Team launched after FOF Finals Visayas leg victory

The One Negros Football Team was launched at the Northwing Atrium of SM City Bacolod on September 16, soon after their victorious game at the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Festival of Football (FOF) Finals Visayas Leg held at Sta. Barbara, Iloilo City on Sept. 1 to 3.

The football players come from various schools in different localities in the Province of Negros Occidental.

The football players were Ecan Johanssen Baldivino, Kent Fredrick Menares Joshua Moscoso, Marjune Manlangit, Francisco Oliverio, Alexander Jazz Elarmo, Pocholo Luis Montinola, Cliff Ian Lingamen, Jr., Christian Mark Tunog, Jeff Gerald Mañoso, Jian Balceda, Lance Sean Saif Sherif, Duke Xander Oplas, Cedrick Loto, Leonel june Destua, Jr., Jervij Carl Arroyo, Matthew Jhayriel Bakingking, Bfour Valenciano, Jirriemy Dale Biton and Gian Tzaddi Bacomo.

The coaching staff were Ronald Allan Treyes, Gino Marcelino Dailig Norcio, John Robert Mendoza, Fritz Guilaran and Ranie Trasmontero.

The Negros Football Team's journey was not without its trials. They faced fierce competition in the Visayas Leg of the PFF - FOF championships. But their dedication, discipline, and unwavering spirit pushed them to rise through the ranks.

The coaches extended their gratitude to the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental through Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Provincial Sports Coordinator Anthony Carlos Agustin, Himamaylan Mayor Raymund Tongson, including those Town and City Mayors who supported the team.

Also, the school principals, teachers and parents showed their full support to the footballers who made their journey in the Visayas leg a victorious one.

Coach Cocoy said the One Football Team is under the Sports Program of Abanse Negrense.

The footballers who are 15 years old and under are keeping their focus on both their training and competitions and also their studies.

A lot of Negrense footballers have enjoyed full scholarships in prestigious universities in Manila because of Football and the same is being aimed for these new footballers to also enjoy the same privilege in the future.

They are now preparing for future national and international competitions but the soonest is the Pintaflores football competition to be held in San Carlos City on October 7-8.

Also, the One Negros Team will prepare for the Borneo Cup in Malaysia next year.

Moreover, they also introduced the Negros Occidental Football Association (NOFA) Buglas U14 Girls who will be playing in the Singa Cup 2023 International Youth Tournament on November 4-12 in Singapore.
