4 nabbed in drug den raid in Cebu City barangay

FOUR persons were arrested and suspected shabu worth P340,000 were confiscated when the operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA 7) and Guadalupe Police Station 9 dismantled a drug den in Sitio Lupa, Barangay Sapangdaku, Cebu City at 7:50 p.m. on Monday, September 18, 2023.

Those arrested were alleged drug den maintainer Joseph dela Torre Sanchez, 40, a resident of the said place; Jinus Abella, 26, a habal-habal driver; Ranel Gabunada, 39, a construction worker; and Jacques Ragasajo, 47.

Seized from them were 12 packs of suspected shabu weighing 50 grams and valued at P340,000, buy-bust money, a cellphone and drug paraphernalia.

According to PDEA 7 information officer Leia Alcantara, they monitored Sanchez for one month before they conducted the raid after receiving information about his illegal drug activity.

The suspect will be facing charges in violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (AYB, TPT)
