THE firefighting capability of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Basilan province got a boost through the intervention of the Provincial Government.

This, as Basilan Governor Jim Hataman-Salliman on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, turned over a brand-new fire truck to BFP-Basilan, strengthening the fire suppression capability of the agency.

The new fire truck was received by Senior Superintendent Kadil Acalul, Basilan Provincial Fire director.

Salliman said the new fire truck was purchased through the assistance from the office of Senator Sonny Angara.

The new fire truck will be assigned to Lamitan City Fire Station.

The province of Basilan now has a total of 12 fire trucks with the arrival of the new fire truck.

With the new fire truck, Salliman was optimistic the BFP can respond immediately to fire incidents and quickly suppress the fire. (SunStar Zamboanga)
