It was a glorious night for Seda Ayala Center Cebu when it marked its 5th anniversary. “Pagpadayun,” which indicates moving forward, was the theme of the celebration. Very apt because the hotel has kept going despite the setbacks during the pandemic years, and has now continued to move forward to achieve new heights.

The happiest face at party belonged to hotel general manager Gwen Dela Cruz who has been at the helm since day one, and has nurtured the homegrown brand with love and dedication. In her talk, she described the challenges and trials undergone by her team during the Covid period and how everyone‘s wholehearted cooperation and staying focused saw them through. She also proudly shared the hotel’s core values of leadership, integrity, vision, excellence and malasakit.

Enjoying the evening celebration were AyalaLand Hotels and Resorts’ top executives led by president/chief executive officer Javier Hernandez who came from Manila with director Al Legaspi and chief financial officer Phearl Raz, and Seda Hotels group director of communications Genny Puno and group director of engineering Efren Rodrigo.

A happy mix of food and fashion, the five-course dinner affair at the grand ballroom was a collaboration between the hotel’s culinary team led by executive sous chef Gina Limot and members of the Fashion Association of Cebu’s Elite Talent who each created designs corresponding to a core value of the hotel. The young designers were Stef Tirado, Jan Tiong, Eyla Orais, Paco Serafica and Pearl Arandia.
