A Chinese national who worked at a cement company located in Brgy. South Poblacion, San Fernando, Cebu, was tragically killed when he fell from the building he was working on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023.
Police Captain Ramuel Banogon, the deputy chief of police at San Fernando Municipal Police Station, said the victim was identified as Li Guanglun, a 55-year-old Chinese national.
SunStar Cebu is withholding the name of the cement company pending their statement on the issue.
Banogon stated that the incident occurred during the afternoon of Tuesday. Guanglun had climbed to the second floor of the ongoing construction when the accident happened.
While attempting to cross from one building to another using a wooden plank, the plank broke, causing Guanglun to fall.
Guanglun was promptly assisted by the rescue team from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office in San Fernando, Cebu.
He was then transported to South General Hospital in the City of Naga. However, he did not survive his injuries. / DVG, WBS
