ON SEPTEMBER 15, 2023, The University of San Carlos (USC) welcomed its new president, Fr. Francisco Antonio T. Estepa, SVD, Ph.D., who has pledged to lead the institution to new heights with a resolute commitment to excellence.
Fr. Estepa, who was elected by the USC Board of Trustees on May 13, 2023, has a proven track record of success in educational leadership. He previously served as the president of USC, Divine Word College of Legazpi, and Holy Name University.
USC is also committed to strengthening its global presence and rankings, investing in cutting-edge technological infrastructure, and altogether enhancing student well-being. The university will be guided by an ethical governance approach, aligned with its Catholic faith and mission.
USC will continue to pursue ISO accreditations while also aiming for future accreditation by the Philippine Quality Award, or PQA. An organizational structure that promotes effective communication, synergistic teamwork, and unflinching accountability will steer the institution.
"Let us embark on this journey with hearts full of hope, minds eager for discovery, and hands ready to continue the green and gold legacy that shines ever brighter," he said.
The USC community is excited to welcome Fr. Estepa as its new president and looks forward to working with him to build a brighter future for the institution.
