DAVAO City's pride Ivo Nikolai Enot harvested nine of the 10 gold medals at stake in the boys division of the Jesuit Athletic Meet (JAM) 2023 swimming competition that concluded at the Xavier School Nuvali in Laguna Friday, September 22.

Enot, a 17-year-old Grade 12 student at the Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU), added four more golds on the final day of competition by ruling the boys' 50-meter  backstroke, 100m and 200m freestyle, and 100m butterfly events on top winning the boys' 200m freestyle relay gold with his teammates.

The Dabawenyo ace, who clinched three individual golds (200m individual medley, 200m freestyle, and 100m backstroke) and two relay golds (boys 200m medley and 400m freestyle) in the first two days of the swimfest, also copped one silver in 50m freestyle.

"I'm really happy with my performance. It has been a while since I competed in a short course pool, and most were best times," he told SunStar Davao via Facebook Messenger on Friday, September 22.

Enot expressed his commitment not to skip any training moving forward.

"I'm planning to go to the gym since next month we are preparing for the Asian-Age Group tryouts, and the following month, it's going to be UAAP already," he said.

He added, "Kailangan ko lang talaga yung confidence (I just need to boost my confidence) since my swim performance has been mediocre since July. Pero I still have two more months to work on para ma achieve ulit yung goal ko sa UAAP (But I still have two more months to work on to achieve my goal again in the UAAP)."

Dabawenya sisters, Lora Micah and Liaa Margarette Amoguis, also contributed to AdMU's medal haul.

Liaa (1:07.37) clinched the girls' 100m butterfly gold at the expense of her elder sister, Lora (1:09.12), who salvaged the bronze. Their AdMU teammate Maria Francesca Barretto took the silver (1:08.00).

On the other hand, Lora secured the silver while Liaa got the bronze in the girls' 100m freestyle. They also helped AdMU bag the girls' 200m freestyle relay gold.

Meanwhile, Rissa Angelian Sahagun of the Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) also shared the spotlight.

Sahagun clocked 35.56 seconds in the girls' 50m breaststroke to capture her lone individual gold in the meet as teammate Maica Angela Garcia came second with 35.82 to take the silver. Liaa (37.00) settled for the bronze.

Sahagun joined forces with Garcia, Jemeina Alexandra Pagaran, and Caitleen Danielle San Felix to claim the girls' 200m freestyle relay silver. Garcia earlier annexed the girls' 100m breaststroke gold.

Jabhari Dilangalen added a silver in the boys' 100m butterfly and a bronze in the boys' 50m breaststroke for the Ateneo Blue Knights Swim Club. MLSA
