21 Kapampangan seniors get 100k cash incentives

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Board members in Pampanga recently led the distribution of P100,000 cash incentives to 21 Kapampangan senior citizens aged 95 and up at the New Legislative Building, September 25.

The 21 citizens are among the beneficiaries of the “One-Time Senior Citizen Cash Incentive Award” of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).

Each of the nine senior citizens also received a certificate of recognition, in accordance with Provincial Ordinance No. 683.

The cash gifts are part of the privileges and benefits provided by the Provincial Government to senior citizens under Ordinance 683.

The program was implemented by virtue of provincial Ordinance 683, series of 2014, or “An Ordinance Enacting the Senior Citizen Code of the Province of Pampanga.”

Initially, only those who have reached 100 years old are entitled to receive the incentive.

Ordinance 647 or the Senior Citizens Code was amended by the Provincial Board, lowering the age of the beneficiaries from 100 to 95 years old.

Board Member Mylyn Pineda Cayabyab said the purpose of the program is to recognize the contribution made by grandparents to their respective communities.
