Iloilo City invited to PH Creative Cities Congress
THE Iloilo City Government led by Mayor Jerry Treñas has been invited to the Philippine Creative Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Congress by the Department of Trade and Industry-Competitiveness Bureau (DTI-CB) at The Manila Hotel on September 28, 2023.
The event is organized primarily to support the growth of the creative industries in the country and to recognize the most competitive provinces, cities and municipalities.
Anchored on the theme "Building Creative Cities and Municipalities, Elevating Local Competitiveness," this is one of the major events of the 2023 Philippine Creative Industries Month (PCIM) celebration.
A Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) Conferment Ceremony, which highlights the results of the 2023 CMCI cycle, will recognize and award over 100 deserving cities and municipalities through their respective local chief executives.
In 2022, Iloilo City had been cited First Place in Most Improved Highly Urbanized City (HUC) and Government Efficiency categories. It also ranked Third Place in Resiliency and Seventh Overall Most Competitive HUC.
The CMCI Program is an annual ranking of LGUs based on actual data that culminates with awarding. It provides benchmarking, trends and insights, hinged on the five competitiveness pillars such as Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure, Resiliency, and Innovation.
A discussion dubbed as “Leaders and Experts Talk” will also be given by esteemed national leaders from key organizations that support the creative economy and CMCI.
It includes short powerful talks by distinguished and influential people devoted to spreading ideas or best practices on their expertise that aid in making cities and municipalities dynamic, resilient, creative, innovative, and competitive. (PR)
