First dialysis center in Macabebe town opens

MACABEBE — The first-ever dialysis center in this municipality, Domingo B. Flores Dialysis Center, was opened yesterday, September 27.

The local government partnered with private firm DialMed to bring the treatment sessions closer to its constituents, as well as residents of nearby municipality.

Jefferlix Natividad, chief executive officer of DialMed, said the facility has 15 dialysis machines that can cater up to 45 patients per day.

“Since, ito po ang first dialysis center dito sa area, ineexpect namin na magcater kami ng mga patients sa Macabebe, Masantol and even mga taga-Bulacan na malapit po dito,” said Natividad.

Municipal Administrator Jubee Navarro said residents of Macabebe may get their free dialysis sessions at the center.

Citing data collected at the Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital, Navarro said at least 70 residents of Macabebe are regularly undergoing dialysis sessions.

Currently, Navarro said dialysis patients in the town need to travel to Apalit or City of San Fernando to get their treatment.

“This is a realization of Mayor Bobong Flores’ promise na magpatayo ng dialysis center dito sa Macabebe. Every session po, gumagastos ang ating mga pasyente ng at least P1,000 para sa dialysis at pamasahe o panggas kaya ako po talaga ay nakipagcoordinate sa ating mga partners para makapagbukas na at makatulong na tayo sa ating mga kababayan. Libre po ang session at tipid sa byahe,” he said.

Vice Mayor Vince Flores asked staff at the health facility to always be kind and friendly to patients.

“Bilang board of director po ng isang ospital, alam ko po na mas nahihirapan ang ating mga pasyente kaya maging extra understanding sana tayo and please always smile,” he said.

The Domingo B. Flores Dialysis Center is located in Barangay San Francisco, near the TESDA training center.
