Tell it to SunStar: Horrendous uptown traffic

Tell it to SunStar: Horrendous uptown traffic

I read a Facebook post that travel time from Mango (Gen. Maxilom Ave.) to N. Bacalso Ave. on Tuesday night, Sept. 25, 2023, was more than an hour.

The poster (?) didn’t say which part of Mango he was coming from because there’s a big difference if he was coming from the city health area as opposed to the Belvic area. Either way, the distance from the end of Mango to N. Bacalso shouldn’t even be five kilometers. It’s not that far.

However, it was rush hour and there were scattered thunderstorms not to mention the ongoing construction of the first package of the Cebu Bus Rapid Transit (CBRT) that covers a distance of 2.38 kilometers from the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso to the front of the Provincial Capitol along Osmeña Blvd. Traffic was expected to be horrendous.

But the situation should no longer surprise motorists and commuters. That’s why they should factor this in when they travel to and from work during weekdays. It should become part of their routine until the CBRT project is completed.
