ILOILO City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas apologized on behalf of the City Government for the involvement of six city workers in the theft of PLDT's active main copper cables.
Treñas said in a statement that the employees, one regular and five casual, had been reported to the police and offered the opportunity to quit immediately or face criminal and administrative charges.
"We will always endeavor to prove they are the exceptions, rather than the rule in the City Government," Treñas said.
The mayor also asked other city employees to be honest and respect the City Government's integrity. (SunStar Philippines)
