90 stall awardees ordered to occupy space at Central Market
The Bacolod City Local Market Committee (LMC) ordered the 90 stall awardees at Central Public Market to occupy their stalls inside the market on Wednesday, September 27.
Councilor Celia Matea Flor, chairperson of the City Council Committee on Market, said they held a meeting on Wednesday, September 27, and it was decided to require all the stall awardees at Central Public Market to occupy the fish section inside the market.
She said on September 22, they conducted a raffle of the stalls at the Central Public Market, and 90 of the 104 qualified vendors were awarded the space.
"Those who failed to get a number during the raffle, we will conduct a deliberation so we can provide them with a space in the area since they are also qualified vendors,” Flor said.
She said they would settle first with the 90 stall awardees so they could determine the available space inside the market.
"We will determine the available space in order to accommodate the remaining 14 vendors who did not get a number during the raffle of the stalls,” she added.
Flor stressed that the 90 stall awardees will be given until October 2 to occupy their stalls inside the market.
“If they refuse to occupy their stalls, we will conduct another raffle so that it will be awarded to those who are interested in doing business inside the market,” she said.*
