A 46-YEAR-OLD man landed in the hospital after being hacked by his 65-year-old uncle in Sitio Can-anyong, Barangay Cawit, Pilar town, Camotes Islands, northern Cebu.

Police identified the victim as Jhony Canaway and the suspect as Hermenio Arnido, both residents of the said place.

According to case investigator Corporal Elija Parija of Pilar Police Station, that prior to the incident, the two were drinking liquor at a nearby store around 6 p.m. on Friday, September 29, but later engaged in a verbal dispute, prompting the store owner to ask them to leave because they were very noisy.

But while they were walking home, the two had not resolved their quarrel.

As a result, Arnido pulled out a butcher knife and struck his nephew with it.

The suspect was arrested after the incident.

He will be facing charge for frustrated homicide. (DVG, TPT)
