FOUR villages in Gutalac, Zamboanga del Norte have received infrastructure projects undertaken through the Local Government Support Program-Support to The Barangay Development Program (LGSP-SBDP), the military said Sunday, October 1, 2023.

The LGSF-SBDP is the government's priority program to usher development and deliver basic services to conflict-affected barangays that lagged due to the terror caused by the News People’s Army (NPA) rebels.

Lieutenant Colonel Nolasco Coderos Jr., 97th Infantry Battalion headquarters, said the recipient villages of the farm-to-market road projects are Immaculada Conception, Sto. Niño, Sas, and San Isidro.

Coderos has joined Mayor Eddie Justine Quimbo of Gutalac in the turnover last week of the farm-to-market roads, which are part of Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (Elcac) program project.

He said the turnover of projects is a momentous event that symbolizes the collective efforts of the community and the local government unit towards development and progress in the municipality of Gutalac.

Coderos said that the programs and projects being realized through the LGSP-SBDP Elcac are remarkable milestones that demonstrate the effectiveness of a whole-nation approach in ending insurgency within the community. These collective efforts can bring positive transformation to the communities.(SunStar Zamboanga)
