FORMER Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte is grieving the loss of his younger sister, who passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023.
According to a Facebook post by Senator Bong Go, Jocelyn Duterte-Villarica, the younger sister of Duterte, passed away at her home. She was accompanied by her children, Bambino and Vince, and her attending nurse during her final moments.
A photo uploaded by Go shows Duterte seated in front of the body of her sister Jocelyn. Both Go and Duterte visited Jocelyn's house in Cavite to personally extend their condolences.
"Buong pusong nakikiramay si Senator Bong Go sa naiwang pamilya ni Ma'am Jocelyn Villarica, kapatid ng dating Pangulo Rodrigo Duterte (Senator Bong Go wholeheartedly sympathizes with the family of Ma'am Jocelyn Villarica, younger sister of Former President Rodrigo Duterte)," Go wrote in his caption.
Netizens also expressed their condolences to the sister of the former president.
"Our deepest sympathies to the family (praying emoji)," a netizen commented.
As of Sunday night, the Duterte and Villarica families have not announced the details of Jocelyn's interment. RGP
