A MAN ended up in the hospital after being struck with a baton sword by his drinking partner.
The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, in Sitio Pundok, Barangay Singsing, Balamban town, midwest Cebu.
The victim was identified as Teodoro Sotero, 56, a widower.
Police Master Sergeant Eugene Taboada of the Balamban Police Station said that Sotero and his neighbor and friend Rodrigo Remedio, 62, married, were drinking when they got into a heated altercation.
Remedio reportedly struck the victim with a baton sword.
The victim only sustained minor injuries as he was able to evade the attack.
He was brought to the Balamban District Hospital, while the suspect was apprehended in his home, where he had fled after the incident. (DVG, TPT)
