Colonel Zorilla is new CPPO chief

THE former head of the Personnel and Records Management Division of Police Regional Office (PRO 7) has assumed his post as the new chief of the Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.

PRO 7 Director Brigadier General Anthony Aberin personally oversaw the appointment of Colonel Percival Zorilla as the new CPPO head.

Zorilla is a member of the 1998 Kabalikat class of the Philippine National Police Academy.

Zorilla expressed his gratitude to Governor Gwendolyn Garcia for choosing him to manage the CPPO and gave her the assurance that he is prepared to work to bring peace and order in the province.

In his message during the occasion, Aberin urged police officers across the province to adhere to the Police Operational Procedures to prevent mistakes.

Aberin told the Cebu police to strictly implement the crime prevention program, police visibility in the streets, beat patrol, serving of arrest and search warrants, security of vital installations, among other measures, to keep the community safe.

"And of course, as a sort of crime prevention natin, we have to maintain yung police visibility natin on the streets. It will really prevent crimes if we are on the streets, wag nating i-asa sa (don’t rely on) CCTV," Aberin remarked.

Aberin was supported by Zorilla, who said that since this was an automatic order, the policemen didn't need to be reminded of it every day.

Aberin asked all CPPO personnel to follow the programs and orders of their new provincial director. (AYB, TPT)
