Tagum City launches new tourism brand

TAGUM City's journey takes an exciting turn with the introduction of its tourism brand, "Tagum: City of Harmony." This brand positions Tagum City as a destination that boasts a distinctive fusion of cultural diversity, environmental consciousness, and visionary urban development.

In Tagum, harmonious living is not a mere concept; it's a way of life. The genuine warmth of its creative residents and the cultural richness that envelops every traveler create an immediate sense of belonging. Whether one is a tourist seeking new adventures or a resident cherishing the city's timeless beauty, the "City of Harmony" invites all to become part of a unique narrative where cultures, nature, and vision converge to create an unforgettable experience.

With that, the new logo of the Tagum City Tourism Brand displays the convergence of indigenous peoples, cultures, music, and abundance. The logo elements and emblems used represent the diversity and harmony of Tagum City: the palm tree or the palm fronds serve as the representation of the city as it is known as the "Palm City of the Philippines;” the embroidery patterns depict the unity in diversities of the different cultures of the three major tribes in the locality—Kagan, Mandaya, and Mansaka; and elements that represent musicality symbolizes the Tagumenyos’ love for music and the annual celebration of the "Musikahan Festival."

On the other hand, the letter 'A' depicts the agricultural abundance of the city, showcasing its local products such as durian, coconut, banana, and rice; the letter 'G' represents the "Gawi'' of the Tagumenyos, which anchored on to the national motto of the Philippines—Maka-Diyos, Maka-Tao, Makakalikasan at Makabansa; the letter 'U' symbolizes the "Unity" of the diverse culture of the peoples in the locality. Lastly, the letter 'M' emphasizes the profound love that the Tagumenyos possess for music.

Meanwhile, the words ``WE ARE" placed above "TAGUM" serves to complete the tagline “We are Tagum!” — the Tagumenyos’ call for unity, oneness, and harmony.

These ensembles indeed prove that Tagum is undoubtedly the “City of Harmony”.

The said Tourism Brand of Tagum City was officially launched last October 2, 2023 in time for the three-day Post Celebration of the Tourism Month.
