USJR, USC graduates in top 10 of CPA licensure exam

A GRADUATE from the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJR) placed first in the Licensure Examination for Certified Public Accountants, while another from University of San Carlos (USC) placed 6th in the same licensure test.

Hebban Talib Tawantawan of USJR shared the first spot with Allaine Beduya Collamar of the University of the Philippines (UP) Tacloban.

Megan De La Torres Mendoza of USC placed sixth together with Allyssa Nicole Calanog Arches of Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Main Sta. Mesa and Paula Angela Mendoza Magdugo of UP Diliman.

Tawantawan and Collamar got a rating of 91.17 percent, while Mendoza, Arches and Magdugo got 89.17 percent.

The other passers in the top 10 are:

2nd -- Frances Anne Balela Foronda of Isabela State University-Echague - 90.50 percent

3rd -- John Patrick Soriben Fronda of Phinma-UPang College Urdaneta Inc. and Aldrich Carl Pineda Galang of Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University - 90.33 percent

4th -- Mark Johnrei Jardin Gandia of University of Santo Tomas and Jedrick Manalo Natividad of Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Main Sta. Mesa - 89.83 percent

5th -- Tyroone Baguio of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela - 89.33 percent

7th -- Kate Wenjie Villanueva Basoy of UP Visayas-Iloilo City and Aira Nicole Altres Sabornido of UP Tacloban - 89 percent

8th -- Joseph Angelo Bactao Ogrimen of University of Santo Tomas - 88.83 percent

9th -- Romelyn Sarmoy Gabanto of Central Philippine University - 88.67 percent

10th -- Christian James Bautista Millando of Far Eastern University-Manila, Neshel Gustillo Sinco of Ateneo de Davao University, and Djohamie Denise Velasco Urayan of Kingfisher School of Business and Finance - 88.33 percent

Below is the complete list of successful examinees.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) said that 2,740 out of 8,734 passed the licensure exam, which was given by the Board of Accountancy in Metro Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Calapan, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Palawan, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga in September 2023.

It said that registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done online on November 28-29, December 1 and December 4-7, 2023.

“Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration. Those who will register are required to bring the following: downloaded duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, notice of admission (for identification only), two pieces passport sized pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag), 2 sets of documentary stamps and 1 piece short brown envelope,” said the PRC.

“Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals,” it added.

It said the date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees will be announced later. (LMY)
