11,000 voters to vote in malls for BSKE

OVER 11,000 voters are set to take part in the pilot testing of the mall voting project for the October 30 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).

Data from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) showed that a total of 11,200 voters will be casting their votes in the eight participating malls located in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Having the most number of voters is Robinsons Magnolia with 1,959 from Barangay Horseshoe in the Fourth District of Quezon City.

There are also 1,874 voters assigned in SM City Sucat from Barangay San Dionisio in the First District of Parañaque City.

SM City Fairview will host 1,806 voters from Barangay Pasong Putik Proper in the Fifth District of Quezon City.

A total of 1,765 voters from Barangay Alicia in the First District of Quezon City will also vote at SM North Edsa.

Barangay Talon Tres in Las Piñas City will have 1,602 voters casting their votes at Robinsons Place Las Piñas.

At SM Manila, there will also be 927 voters from Barangay 659 in the Fifth District of Manila City.

Robinsons Place Manila will play host to 802 voters from Barangay 668 in the Fifth District of Manila City.

There are 465 voters from Barangay Dela Paz in the Second District of Pasig City will vote in Robinsons Metro East.

During the October 30 polls, the Comelec is looking to pilot test mall voting in selected malls in the country.

Comelec Chairman George Garcia said they want to make the voting process closer, easier, and better for the voters, especially the elderly, persons with disability, and pregnant women. (HDT/SunStar Philippines)
