286 Zamboanga del Sur returning families get P18.3-M cash aid

THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has distributed some P18.3 million in cash aid to 286 families who returned to the province of Zamboanga del Sur.

The distribution of cash aid was made through the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS) Kapangyarihan and Kaunlarant sa Barangay (KKB) Balike Probinsya, Bagong-Pagasa (BP2) program of the DSWD.

The DSWD regional office said in a statement Wednesday, October 11, that the family beneficiaries received the Family Support package and livelihood settlement grants as part of the government's assistance to those who returned to their provinces from other parts of the country due to the pandemic to start over.

The DSWD said the total grant issued to 286 families amounted to P18,321,700.

The number of families in each municipality with grantees are as follows: Aurora, with 40 family beneficiaries and a grant worth P2,566,150; Bayog, 25 family beneficiaries and a grant worth P1,627,250; Dumingag, 28 family beneficiaries and a grant of P1,803,700; Kumalarang, 23 family beneficiaries and a grant worth of P1,415,050; Lakewood, 28 family beneficiaries and a grant worth P1,719,358; Lapuyan, 23 family beneficiaries and a grant of P1,477,850; Sominot, 23 family beneficiaries and a grant worth of P1,498,550; San Miguel with 39 family beneficiaries and a grant worth P2,525,850; and, Tigbao, 40 family beneficiaries and a grant worth P3,687,950.

The DSWD regional office said the release of the family support package and livelihood settlement grant was held on Tuesday, October 10, in Pagadian City, the capital of Zamboanga del Sur province.

The distribution of the cash grant was led by Promotive Division Chief and concurrent Kalahi-CIDSS Regional Program Coordinator Evelyn Lingatong, Social Welfare Officer 111 Nellie Ramirez, and other staff of DSWD regional office. <b>(SunStar Zamboanga)</b>
