A RIDER died in a motorcycle-sports utility vehicle head-on collision in a west coast village of Zamboanga City, the police reported Thursday, October 11, 2023.
Police Major Ramon Aquiatan, Zamboanga City Police Station 10 chief, said the incident happened around 10:10 a.m. Thursday, October 12, in Sitio Miluao, Patalon village, Zamboanga City.
Aquiatan identified the fatality as Gemar Villena Jimenez, 26, a resident of Purok 3, Mango Drive, Labuan, Zamboanga City.
He said investigation showed Jimenez traveling towards the city proper when he collided head-on after the incoming SUV driven by Annabelle Gabuyan, 59, had encroached his lane.
Aquiatan said Gabuyan was driving toward the direction of Labuan village at the time of the collision.
Jimenez was rushed to the Labuan General Hospital but was declared dead by the attending physician. (SunStar Zamboanga)
