Tourism board introduces new branding campaign, launches ‘Imong Singapore’ promo in local mall

THE Singapore Tourism Board (STB) recently launched an evolution of Singapore’s destination brand during a recent press conference at the Cebu City Marriott Hotel.

According to the organization, from “Uniquely Singapore” to “YourSingapore”, the current concept focuses on Singapore’s uniqueness and captures what travelers seek —a personal travel experience.

STB area director for Brunei and Philippines Lynelle Seow adds “people demand freshness,” and further explained that the campaign differentiates Singapore’s value proposition from that of competitors, ensuring the destination remains relevant and compelling to today’s travelers. She invited visitors to make their virtual experience of Singapore a reality.

At the heart of the campaign is a digital approach that includes a new website, blogger engagement, mobile and social media, as well as travel e-commerce to connect to visitors.

The website, www.yoursingapore.com allows travelers to conceptualize and plan their individual itinerary. It facilitates sharing of experiences among travelers and local residents alike, and will be powered by up-to-date multimedia content about all things Singapore.

Meanwhile, STB-Philippines shares the fun of shopping in time for its ongoing Great Singapore Sale by giving Cebuanos the chance to enjoy Singapore with the Imong Singapore raffle promo. In partnership with Ayala Center Cebu (ACC), shoppers get the chance to win a trip for two to Singapore to enjoy any of the Lion City’s special attractions and awaited events this year. From June 12 to July 12, ACC shoppers who spend a minimum of P2,000 worth of single receipts from any outlet in the mall are entitled to one raffle ticket. Shoppers just need to fill up the raffle stubs and drop their entries in designated drop boxes at ACC’s privilege desk until mall closing on July 12.

The grand winner will receive a roundtrip economy class ticket for two to Singapore via Philippine Airlines, three-day, two-night hotel accommodations and transfers.

Second prize winner will get a 22-inch Samsung LCD television set while the third prize winner will receive a Samsung CAM PL101 Silver digital camera.

Ten Samsung MP3 players will also be given away as consolation prizes.

Attractions

Apart from the Great Singapore Sale 2010 which offers up to 70 percent off on all must-haves until July 25, Singapore has also lined up a series of events and activities. For food lovers, the upcoming Singapore Food Festival is scheduled for July 16-25; for sports fans, the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games set for Aug. 14-26; for Fl enthusiasts, the F1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix is slated for Sept. 24-26 while art lovers can look forward to the city’s annual ARTSingapore in October.

Singapore also gives visitors world-class experiences at the newly-opened Resorts World Sentosa, with its four first-class hotels, spa and casino complex, and Universal Studios Singapore.

The Marina Bay Sands will also be a must-see, especially for those who want a taste of dishes whipped up by Michelin Star chefs like Wolfgang Puck as well as luxury brands like Bulgari, Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton, Hermes, and Prada.
