THE National Housing Authority (NHA) in Northern Mindanao is targeting to have additional low-cost housing projects for this year.
Engr. Fe P. Ancheta, head of NHA's regional technical unit, said included in the plan are towns the of Villanueva, Salay and Magsaysay in Misamis Oriental; Iligan City, Cagayan de Oro City more specifically in Barangays Balulang and Macanhan; and Lantapan in Bukidnon.
However, Ancheta said these areas have yet to be developed and others are still for land acquisitions as they are still waiting for the approval of its plan, which was already set for submission at the central office.
"Soonest as it would be approved before the central office, it will then be submitted to the office of the Department of Budget Management (DBM) for approval," Ancheta said.
She refused to give figures as to the proposed budget citing a directive from NHA-Northern Mindanao officer-in-charge, Judy A. Fernandez, not to release any budget details so as not to preempt the plan. (Loui S. Maliza)
