Aquino starts promise not to use siren (1:48 p.m.)

MANILA -- President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III on Thursday started living up to his promise on refraining from using siren in his everyday travel.

In his second day in office, Aquino and his security escorts drove to Malacanang by stopping at every traffic light they passed through.

Aquino still stays at his family residence in Times Street, Quezon City while the Bahay Pangarap in Malacanang compound, which he chose to be his official residence, is being renovated and furnished.

The President welcomed several foreign dignitaries to pay courtesy call to him from 10 a.m. to 12:45 a.m.

This afternoon, some balikbayans will also greet the bachelor President.

After this, Aquino’s Cabinet men will again have photo opportunities with him along with their families.
