MANILA -- President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III on Friday maintained that there was no mistake in the issuance of Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 1 detailing the status of non-career executive service officials under the previous administration.
Aquino reiterated that there was merely a need to fine tune the language used in the MC so that all concerned employees could easily understand the provisions of the memorandum.
“Yung details sabi nga ng mga Ingles, the devil in the details, so fi-nine tune for the sake of clarity. At para mas madaling masundan ng lahat ng kinauukulan,” he said.
Aquino received feedback from several government officials prompting him to review the MC.
He also said he had talked to his Executive Secretary Pacquito Ochoa regarding the changes in the memorandum.
Ochoa was the person who signed the memorandum.
To recall, Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda had a hard time Thursday in explaining why Malacanang was issuing two memorandum circulars with the same number but with not exactly the same contents. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
